Account Manager

We’re looking for a technically savvy Account Manager with experience selling document management and process improvement software in a B2B environment. Software sales experience with a consultative sales mindset is a must, working with Professional Services and managing multiple parties. Proven experience selling over quota, and achieving and exceeding annual targets is important.
The right candidate will demonstrate a true “hunter” mentality to find, grow and complete sales opportunities. Experience in Software as a Services, Enterprise Licensing, and Channel Management is desirable. Experience selling into the BPO/Services industry is beneficial, as is experience with ISVs, and the VAR community.
- Local candidates only. All work must be completed from the Manhattan-based office during regular business hours.
- No relocation compensation is offered.
- Business travel may be required (30 to 40%).
Key responsibilities
- Cold Calling: Seeking out new prospects and building long-term relationships with key accounts to proactively build new business.
- Appointment Setting and Demonstration. Making appointments and generating interest for the software. By finding key influencers and decision makers within key accounts, the candidate will initiate and carry out the sales process through to the closing of the sale. This includes setting the necessary teleconference meetings, web demonstrations, and driving the business towards new revenue generation. Travel for in person meetings may be necessary, or travel and presentation at trade shows and events may be required from time to time.
- Forecasting: Collaborating with Managers on business revenue generation and forecasting. Weekly results review with the Sales Manager, reviewing all sales efforts to drive sales revenue, and related projects.
- Proposals: Creating valuable services and delivering strong proposals to prospective clients to meet their needs.
- Order Fulfilment: Internally managing the sale, and completing required steps that are required by the Sales Representative.
- Account Management: Learning about clients and managing the accounts is important. Good customer services and communication is required to support existing partners and prospective new clients.
What are the qualifications?
- A proven record of establishing relationships and closing deals.
- Ability to identify new sales opportunities, forecast the business pipeline, and manage the sales cycle.
- Ability to convey technical and complex concepts to a variety of audiences -- both technical and business stakeholders and decision makers.
- Superior verbal and written communication, negotiation and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks at once, and deliver results.
- Ability to work both individually and within a team environment.
- Technology savvy. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook required. Experience with CRM systems/database.
