A2iA: a global benchmark |
The origin of A2iA culminates 40 years of research and development by the late professor Jean-Claude Simon, a pioneer in handwriting recognition. Professor Simon and his team successfully completed a project in 1986, which enabled computers to read human handwriting and in 1991, A2iA S.A. was formed in Paris, France, which led to the introduction of commercial business applications.
A2iA has kept strong ties with University research programs and works closely with university departments both in France (University Paris 5 - René Descartes and University of Rouen - Perception, System and Information Laboratory - a CNRS affiliate) and abroad (Concordia University in Canada).
This enables the company to maintain its position as a R&D leader. |
A key priority: research |
To strengthen its position as the world leader in cursive Intelligent Word Recognition, A2iA allocates 25% of its revenue to fundamental and applied technological research in the area of Automatic Document Processing: OCR, ICR, IWR, Full IWR, ADR, etc. |
